WELCOME
Here you will find some of my more recent software projects (and a few older ones which I have more or less abandoned now). I became interested in computers back in 1980, or thereabouts, and since then it has developed into an obsession. I was especially attracted by, and addicted to assembly language programming. I'm not sure why exactly but it has fascinated me since I bought a book and taught myself Z80 assembly language on the ZX81. Since then I have developed code for many platforms as part of my hobby projects and as a professional software engineer. Sadly the demand for assembly language software developers is very much on the decline now...
Microprocessors and digital electronics are also a keen interest (and career) of mine, along with EPROMs and EPROM programmers. Infact, the majority of my electronics project designs featured either Microprocessors, EPROMs or EPROM programmer related features.
Over the years I have owned many different computers, certainly all of the 8-bit home machines but I didn't have the room to keep them all. The use of emulators means that you can have any or all of the computers of yesteryear all stored on the hard drive of your humble PC. I have always wanted to have a bash at writing my own emulator but I have not had the time until recently.
On this website you will find emulators I have written for particular computer hardware favourites of mine. So far I have written emulators for the ZX Spectrum, ZX81 and Micro-Professor. All are currently at a work in progress stage but if they are listed here they are functional.
